This page is devoted to beginning collectors of fluorescent minerals and to those who desire affordable additions to existing collections. Specimens offered here were all self-collected.
TERLINGUA CALCITE - One to one and a half inch pieces of our classic blue/pink fluorescing material from its original discovery site. Daylight color ranges from nearly colorless to solid pink. Good triangular zones evident in most pieces. You won’t be disappointed! 2 for $7.00
FLUORITE (Deming or Lordsburg, NM) – Mostly pale green massive chunks about one and a quarter to one and a half inches. Some are nearly colorless to white; some are pale green and purple. All exhibit excellent blue/purple fluorescence LW, weaker SW. $3.00 each.
FLUORITE (Terlingua Cinnabar District) – Thin plates of fluorite crystals that formed on cinnabar-included barite nodules or freeform in clay. Individual crystals are up to 4 mm on edge. Plates range from about one inch to one and a half inches, measured by longest dimension. Daylight colors are: nearly colorless, gray, creamy white, tan and ‘burnt’ orange to deep brown. Lighter colors fluoresce creamy white; darker colors fluoresce orange to ‘burnt’ orange, better SW. Many pieces have tiny barite (non-FL) masses sprinkled throughout the surface of the plates. Lighter colored pieces are in very short supply.
CHALCEDONY (Needle Peak, 5 miles south of the Terlingua Cinnabar District) - About one and a half inch chunks of massive, mostly light blue-gray material, some with a white alteration layer (opal?). Strong bright green fluorescence SW, weaker dark green LW. $3.00 each.
