There is an incredible mix of colors in this relatively small piece of Terlingua Calcite for sale. It has every commonly seen long wave color in this material: lilac, yellow, and orange, as well as the expected multiple shades of pink. And the one mineral that is fluorescing in all of these different colors is calcite.
This piece is not quite a cube, but it is a block shaped piece. It has relatively flat faces that will allow you to display it from multiple angles. It can also be propped to display multiple faces as well. And while I’m showing only a couple of the faces, every face has some nice colors. There is a little bit of non-fluorescent matrix on the piece, and some dimly fluorescent material. But overall, it has great fluorescence and great color under all wavelengths of ultraviolet light.
It has all of the characteristics of Terlingua Calcite, glowing pink in long wave, purplish in mid-wave, and blue in short wave. Oh, and it has nice phosphorescence or afterglow lasting several seconds after exposure to either short or mid-wave UV. Some of the calcite in the piece also shows some brief phosphorescence after exposure to long wave UV
