This is a piece of Terlingua Calcite, 2 pounds 4.8 ounces, from the Little 38 Mine in Terlingua, Texas. It shows the classic pink long wave, lilac mid-wave, and blue short wave fluorescent responses, with phosphorescence/afterglow lasting approximately 5 seconds after exposure to either short wave or mid-wave UV. Since the rock has some lavender and greenish tints in the long wave and mid-wave pictures, it may continue to develop brighter colors if kept in the sun a while longer. It measures approximately 4¾ x 3¼ x 3¼ inches.
